Maria, originally from South Korea, became interested in the field of physical therapy while watching her father, a physical therapist, help and treat his patients. She then enrolled at Southern Adventist University, where she studied Exercise Physiology. During college, Maria’s interest in physical therapy continued to grow while she worked as an athlete lab result technician at a Human Resource Lab. After completing her undergraduate studies, Maria went on to earn her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Loma Linda. She developed interests in a variety of physical therapy fields, including long-term care, acute care, orthopedics, and home health. Currently, Maria enjoys outpatient orthopedic rehabilitation, helping patients regain the ability to participate in their functional daily activities. In her free time, she enjoys listening to podcasts, painting, and traveling.
