My name is Damany Phifer and I am the Speech Pathology Director here at San Bernardino. I am very excited to be with Transit! I was born in Michigan. I have lived in Florida, Bermuda, and now California. I am married with three sons. I speak English and Spanish. I started my career as an educator teaching elementary school, then middle school, and lastly community college. I wanted to make a change so I could work one-on-one with individuals and work in a highly specialized areas so I earned my Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of Central Florida. I became a SLP because of a family member and because of my own personal experience as a stutterer. Speech pathology helped me to speak with confidence. I want to help patients communicate and improve their swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive deficits. I have worked in a variety of settings but I enjoy outpatient therapy the most. I treat children and adult patients. In my free time I enjoy spending time with family, reading, learning languages, going to the gym, and spending time at the beach.
